Green Team

The mission of the Evesham Green Team is to unite the local Evesham community around tangible actions and practical solutions that foster a green and sustainable future. The Team fulfills this purpose by providing avenues for community outreach and environmental education, while collaborating closely with local residents, area businesses, nonprofits, and elected officials. 

A central objective of the Evesham Green Team is to serve as the local body responsible for meeting the requirements of the statewide Sustainable Jersey program. Establishing an active Green Team is a mandatory requirement for municipalities seeking certification under Sustainable Jersey. By working toward official Sustainable Jersey action items, the team allows Evesham Township to maintain and advance its certification standing. 

Per Resolution No. 95-2026, The Evesham Green Team is currently established as a subcommittee of the Evesham Environmental Commission. While both entities promote local environmental welfare, The Environmental Commission serves primarily as an advisory board to the governing body focused on the protection, development, and use of natural resources within Evesham Township, while also examining issues such as smart growth, green infrastructure, recycling, energy efficiency, wildlife habitat preservation and providing advisory reviews of site plans that may appear before The Evesham Planning Board.
