Marlton Mondays celebrates one-year anniversary of offering shoppers 10 percent off purchases at participating local businesses on Mondays

Everybody loves Mondays in Evesham Township, and it’s all thanks to the Marlton Mondays program – now celebrating its one-year anniversary!

This past year shoppers have been able to visit participating business each and every Monday to get 10 percent off their total purchases just by mentioning “Marlton Mondays.” It’s that simple!

Started in March 2021, the program has served as yet another way for Evesham Township to encourage residents to support local businesses. Whether it’s restaurants, retail, or other services, residents have had yet another reason to shop local and support the business that do so much for the Evesham community.

In exchange for businesses agreeing to participate in the program, those same businesses have received free promotion through the Evesham Township website, social media, and other communication platforms. Evesham Township has also partnered with Burlington County to have businesses promoted through the county’s website and social media pages as well.

“As I’ve said many times, our local businesses are the backbone of our township,” Councilwoman Pat Hansen said. “These businesses employ our residents. These businesses support our youth sports. These businesses give back to our local nonprofits and charities to help those in need. I can’t say enough to encourage our residents to shop local wherever and however they can.”

The Marlton Mondays program was created by members of the Evesham Economic Advisory Council.

The advisory council was formed nearly two years ago, with members representing a broad cross-section of the local business community. Through monthly meetings and coordination with township officials, members of the advisory council continue to aid officials in creating initiatives to boost the township’s long-term economic potential.

“Great ideas like the Marlton Mondays program are the exact reason why we started the Evesham Economic Advisory Council,” Mayor Jaclyn Veasy said. “The knowledge and experience of these local professionals has been invaluable in our township’s efforts to support our local businesses in new and exciting ways.”
