Learn about Evesham Township's heat mitigation plans during Fourth of July festivities on Main Street

With the high temperatures expected for The Fourth of July, Evesham Township is taking the following steps to help everyone stay safe as we enjoy the morning festivities on Main Street!

• 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲, 𝗞𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 & 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲: A Misting Tent will be set up at the Main Street Firehouse, and Misting Fans will be at Kain Park and the Post Office at the end of the parade route to give anyone who needs a break from the heat a place to quickly cool off.

• 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱: We've got plenty of water to keep you refreshed! A huge thank you to ShopRite of Marlton for generously donating extra water for the event! This is in addition to water being provided by the Evesham MUA.

• 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: You can find the ice-cold water in canisters positioned all along the 5K / Parade route for easy public access. Grab a drink if you need it. We also greatly encourage everyone to bring extra water with you if you can!

• 𝗦𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Our friends at Evesham Fire Rescue are working on creating Splash Stations by using sprinklers at select Fire Hydrants along Main Street. Kids may want to wear swimwear and bring a towel!

• 𝗞𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗕𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: To keep our youngest participants safe from overexertion in the heat, the kids' bike parade route has been shortened slightly. It will now be a roundtrip loop from the Fire Department to the Pat McKenna Realtors Building and back.

Let’s all stay safe and hydrated as we celebrate together! We’ll see you for the 5K/Walk at 8:30 a.m., the Kids Bike Parade at 10 a.m., and the Main Parade at 11 a.m.
