This week Evesham Township Council adopted the 2025 Municipal Budget and 2025 Capital Budget.
This year’s budget includes numerous investments to enhance Evesham’s facilities, roads, equipment and staffing to ensure Evesham residents continue to receive the excellent level of services that members of our community have come to expect.
Just some highlights include the:
• The 2025 Road Program (See slide for specific roads)
• New police vehicles and equipment
• Police Department Facility Improvements
• Tennis and Basketball Court improvements at Memorial Field
• Dek Hockey installation at Evesboro Downs
• Improvements to the Entrance/Elevator at the Gibson House Community Center
• Staffing enhancements for the Public Works and Parks Departments
• Improvements to the Thomas and Mary Evens House to allow the facility to remain a viable location for arts programs
• Lighting upgrades for Main Street
• Lighting Upgrades Kings Grant Drive / Crown Royal Parkway
• Preliminary Engineering for Artificial Turf Field at the M3 Filed at the Memorial Sports Complex
• And much more…
This year’s budget also begins to transition the municipality to a model over the next several years where the township will now be responsible for the full funding of the School Resource Officer (SRO) program with the Evesham Township School District (ETSD).
Historically, the cost of this program was shared in different ways between the Township and the ETSD. Going forward, the township will eventually assume full financial responsibility for the program, ensuring the continued presence of officers in our schools and relieving the district of that expense.
This year’s budget was also the first where the township could legally anticipate revenue from local cannabis retailers, based on the revenue received in 2024. The township expects that revenue to increase year over year moving forward to further bolster future budgets.
As noted by Mayor Veasy, the investments in this year’s budget reflect areas that she and her fellow members of Council hear most about from residents, specifically on the topics of repairing streets and roads, feeling safe in our community with a dynamic and well-prepared police force, and enhancing parks and open space.
“I’m proud of this budget and how it reflects the wants and needs of our residents. We’ve done a great deal of planning over the past several years, and we’re starting to see that planning come to fruition for our residents with these investments into our community and our workforce,” Mayor Veasy said. “We’re constantly updating our plans to ensure we’re meeting what residents what to see. These plans are ever evolving and ever changing, but we’re always continuing to listen and invest.”
These projects listed in this year’s budget also complement several ongoing projects from recent budget years and grants.
This includes the ongoing work for a new Driving Range Building at the Indian Spring Golf Course that will have the capacity to offer concessions and serve as a "mini-pro shop" at the range, as well as the new Pickleball Courts in front of the Gibson House Community Center, for which bids will soon open.
The township also continues work with state agencies for the Completely Inclusive “Jake’s Place” Playground at Evesboro Downs Park that will serve needs of children and adults who experience disabilities, for which the township received a $731,000 grant.
