The Municipal Court has jurisdiction over cases within their territorial jurisdiction, including violations of municipal ordinances, violations of motor vehicle and traffic laws, disorderly person’s offenses, petty disorderly person’s offenses and other non-indictable offenses, except where exclusive jurisdiction is given to the Superior Court. Also included within this jurisdiction are violations of fish and game laws and weights and measures.

Court Schedule
Court is held each Thursday at 8:30 AM and the 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 9:00 AM.
Mediation is also scheduled through the Municipal Court and is held on the 1st Monday of each month starting at 6:00 PM. Our Mediation program is sponsored by the County of Burlington and is extremely successful in solving most neighborhood disputes.
The violations payment window is open to the public from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday. If anyone is unable to make a payment at our violation window and does not wish to use the regular mail, they are welcome to drop the payment in the drop-box, located in the circular drive in front of the main entrance to the Municipal Building. Payments can be made by credit card (Visa and Mastercard only), however, they must be made in person. Credit card payments are not accepted over the phone.
